Spring Essentials: Shoes

ITS FINALLY SPRING BREAK. After a week of suffering through ChemCAD simulations and problem sets I can finally relax! I can burrito myself into my comforter for DAYS and not worry about missing classes or homework assignments! I can pluck and trim my bushy (possibly uni-)eyebrows into submission, so they don't look like an ugly version of Cara Delevingne, but best of all I finally have time to revamp my spring wardrobe.

Anyway, the Spring Essentials series will go all the way from the the bottom to the top of an outfit (cue Drake's Started from the Bottom): shoes, bottoms, tops, dresses, accessories, makeup, and hair. It's my way of making a cohesive spring/summer wardrobe.

Top Row (from right to left)
White Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars- $50
This should be a staple in everyone's wardrobe. The white color is perfect for summer. An easy, breezy shoe easily paired with shorts and a t-shirt or paired with a floral dress for a cool, casual feel.

EVA Sole Zip Back Sandal-$49.90
This heel zipped casual sandal gives an edgy vibe to your outfits. Its minimal design is more upscale than the average flipflop. Pair these with distressed denim shorts and a loose fit white tee and it'll give you the sporty, casual, chic vibe that's been popular with bloggers.

Madewell's Sidewalk Skimmer in Suede-$88.00
A classic black leather flat. It's high quality construction and stylish pointed toe makes this a must-have for flat lovers.

Saint Laurent Leather Sandals- $795
Elegant, black leather sandals that I will never be able to afford based on my college student budget (TT^TT), but still beautiful to look at. Simple and sleek.

Bottom Row (from right to left)
Nike Free 5.0+ - $85.00
Fashion bloggers have been rocking the sporty casual chic look that I have immensly been a fan of. I have a pair of these in grey with neon green accents and I love pairing them with an all black outfit to make the neon accents stand out. The black/white ones are great for an everyday shoe since it's lines are so clean and minimalistic.

Black Birkenstocks- $120.00
Okay, okay, I know. My father wore these when I was a kid, but I've seen more than a few photos of street fashion featuring these bad boys, they're coming back into style! A little clunky, a little ugly, but almost in an endearing way, the way I was when I was 13 and dutifully took my fashion advice from my dad. I feel like they're a pretty good investment since they always seem to come back into style.

Open Work High Heel Leather Sandal- $99.00
Who can resist a statement shoe for summer nights out? This beautiful caged sandal will turn heads everywhere (also give you a nice 4 inch boost) so divide and conquer on a night out on the town. I actually don't know if that's what people do when they go out since I hardly have time to :< BUT, nonetheless it's a beautiful shoe even if you are just going to sit around your apartment on a "staycation."

I know there are not a lot of colorful! floral! springtime! shoes in this collection but I love minimalistic lines and neutrals. I only really do pops of color in my wardrobe. But that would be for another post.

What are your favorite spring shoes/trend?
